Behold The Library

The Phil Kitkowski Memorial Library, to be exact:

Our late friend Phil left behind a massive trove of books, like, an industrial tote full. Phil read everything, from political science to engineering to history to pop fiction to you-name-it. We reserved a worthy selection for the memorial library in our taproom, and have slowly been feeding the rest into our “tiny library” out on the corner. It’s amazing what people will take to read when it’s free- everything from technical treatises to potboilers. Everything except bodice-rippers, apparently. Nobody will take those; every time we notice someone sorting through the library and leaving empty-handed, we find only romances left, and know it’s time to restock with what the people want: Principles of Fluid Mechanics, 2nd. Ed., baby!

I was inspired to post this update by the upcoming Detroit Festival of Books, aka: Detroit Bookfest, which will be back to Eastern Market this July 20th, and which dwarfs our own ‘library’ by a fair bit: https://detroitbookfest.com
