Digging up the street, to install a 4″ fire sprinkler line, and upgrade our aged sewer and service line:



Cutting trenches for drains and other utilities:



The slab shown above is about 1/3 of our floor space, and used to be a forklift-accessible freezer. The kitchen and bathrooms will be the primary occupants of the space when we’re done. The righthand image shows where we’ve cut through a 4″ slab and 4″ of dense foam insulation. Underneath? another 4″ slab, the original floor. We made the trench wide enough that our saw will fit, to make the next cuts.
