Upgrading Alibaba

Speaking of modifications, (weren’t we?) the keg washer that was included in the purchase of the brewery is of the ‘alibaba.com’ sort, ie junky Chinese-fabricated, and included neither a pressure gauge nor a heater for the detergent tank. Not ideal, to say the least. Adding the gauge was easy; the heater a little less so. Part of the problem was that I needed to do so without greatly increasing the maximum power draw, as the circuit was already in place. The solution was to add an interlock so that the heater is disabled whenever the pump is running, which required one extra relay in the new, larger control enclosure. Bring on the dirty kegs!
